The Alumni Association of the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) has feted senior Odisha bureaucrat Bishnupada Sethi for his distinguished contributions and exemplary service.
Sethi, a 1995 batch IAS officer, has been conferred the ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award 2018’ by the renowned institute. Professor Karuna Jain, director of NITIE bestowed Sethi with the award. The award is in recognition of the mandarin’s exemplary leadership and outstanding service to the society at large. Sethi is noted for his distinguished contributions in the realms of industry, academia and administration.
Appreciating his efforts, Prof Jain said, “It is a proud privilege to honour you for your achievements that makes Institution proud”.
Sethi did Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) in NITIE in 1989-1990 with outstanding feat.
NITIE offers a two-year residential Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, equivalent to Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, recognized by the Government of India.
Later, Sethi joined elite Indian Administrative Service and is now serving as Secretary Higher Education.
He has proved his mettle as Sethi is also serving as Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) and Managing Director Odisha Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) during the Natural Calamities including the recent Very Severe Cyclone-Titli.
Recently the Central Team visited the state lauded efforts of the state government in Relief and Rescue Operations in Titli, for which lot of Team Work was done and Sethi provided the leadership during the calamity.
Sethi, a quiet performer has been appreciated in the meeting by other distinguished speakers for his worthy accomplishments.
