The much awaited teaser of the song for the Hockey World Cup 2018 is out. Legendary composer AR Rahman released it which also featured Bollywood’s Baadshah Shahrukh Khan. Both celebs are to grace the inaugural spectacle of the grand sporting event on November 27.
The catchy teaser song has been penned by veteran poet and lyricist Gulzar.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has thanked music composer Rahman for the song. “The catchy teaser captures the excitement & euphoria of hockey lovers across India for #HockeyWorldCup2018. Looking forward to the full version & watching you live in #Bhubaneswar & #Cuttack”, Patnaik tweeted.
Online ticket sales for the star studded opening ceremony begin on November 20. Authorities of Hockey India took to their twitter handle to make the announcement. “Hockey India announces the online ticket sales will go live from 20th November at 12 PM IST for the grand opening ceremony for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 to be held on 27th November and 28th November,” it said.
Around 10,500 tickets are likely to be sold for the Inaugural ceremony in Bhubaneswar and 30,000 tickets for the November 28 event, sources said.Music Maestro A R Rahman will perform at both the venues, along with other Bollywood Super Star, Shah Rukh Khan.The online redemption of the tickets for the opening ceremony in Bhubaneswar will be from 3 PM on November 22 at Gate 4 of Kalinga Stadium along with other locations throughout the city.
Fans can choose redemption centers from multiple locations/ and counters in Cuttack while booking their tickets for the World Cup Celebrations event.
The date for online redemption of the tickets for the World Cup Celebration event will be announced in due course, it said.
World Cup is scheduled to set stage from 28 November to 16 December at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
The Hockey World Cup, to run between November 28 and December 16 at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium, will witness participation of 16 nations. The stadium has been spruced up and upgraded to global standards for the mega event.
The department of sports & youth affairs is all agog for the ensuing spectacle. Anant Narayan Jena, mayor at Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has unveiled an eight-foot high replica trophy for the World Cup. Six more trophy replicas have been showcased at centres across the city. People have opportunities to take snapshots of the trophy and pose selfies with it.
