Dr Ramakanta Panda, Vice Chairman & MD, Asian Heart Institute

Hailing from Damodarpur in Odisha’s Jajpur district, Dr Ramakanta Panda is widely considered to be India’s best known cardiac surgeon. Panda is currently the vice chairman and managing director of Asian Heart Institute (AHI), a super speciality and tertiary care hospital in Mumbai.

Panda shot into scintillating fame when he operated on the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in a case of complicated heart surgery.
